Marriage Biodata Example: 4 Complete Samples You Can Copy
Four finished marriage biodatas for different situations: a short one, a detailed one with horoscope details, one written by a parent, and one for a second marriage.
On this page
If you've read what a biodata should contain and still can't picture the finished thing, this page is the shortcut. Below are four complete biodatas, each written for a different situation. Find the one closest to yours, copy it, and replace the details with your own.
They're all built on the same seven sections. What changes between them is length, which sections carry weight, and who is doing the writing.
Which one to copy
| If this is you | Use |
|---|---|
| Writing your own, sending it to a few families | The short one |
| Your family or theirs compares horoscopes | The detailed one |
| A parent or sibling is writing it for you | The parent-written one |
| You've been married before | The second-marriage one |
1. The short one
This is the version most people actually need. It fits on one phone screen, it answers the first questions a family has, and it doesn't make anyone scroll to find the point. If you're not sure which to start from, start here.

2. The detailed one, with horoscope details
Some families compare horoscopes before the conversation goes any further, and they'll ask for birth date, birth time and birth place. If that's how it works in your family or the families you're approaching, the cultural section stops being optional and the biodata gets longer.

3. The one a parent is writing
Plenty of biodatas are written by a parent or an elder sibling rather than the person themselves, and they read differently. They're in third person, the family section usually comes earlier, and the tone is a little more formal. None of that is wrong. The only real mistake is mixing the two voices in one document.

CONTACT
Phone: 98XXXXXX44 (father, Harjit Singh Sethi)
Email: sethi.family@example.comThe family section is first here because for this family it's the part they lead with. That's a reasonable choice, not a rule. Put the sections in whatever order suits the conversation you're having.
One line in that example is doing real work: "He would like a partner who is comfortable with a joint family, as the family lives together." It's a genuine expectation, stated plainly and early, and it saves both sides a conversation that would otherwise happen three weeks in.
4. The second-marriage one
A biodata for a second marriage is the same document as any other. One line states your marital status, and one more covers children if you have them.
You don't owe the reader an explanation of what happened. If a family wants to understand more, they'll ask, and that conversation belongs in person rather than in a file that gets forwarded.

good at yet. I'm looking for someone steady, who is comfortable with my
daughter being part of this, and who has their own life going on.
PARTNER PREFERENCES
Age: 33 to 42

Profession: Any
Marital Status: Open to never married, divorced or widowed
Location: Hyderabad
CONTACT
Phone: 90XXXXXX18 (mine)
Email: farah.q@example.comThe partner preferences section here says something the others don't: it names which marital statuses she's open to. If you're writing a second-marriage biodata, that one line filters out a lot of mismatched introductions before they start.
What changed, and what didn't
Across all four, these stayed the same:
- Seven sections, roughly the same order. Personal, education and career, family, cultural details, about, preferences, contact.
- One page. None of them needs scrolling past a screen or two.
- Plain facts, not adjectives. Nobody described themselves as hardworking or family-oriented. Those words are in every biodata, which is exactly why they carry no information.
- A contact number with an owner. Every one says whose phone it is.
What changed was length and emphasis. Divya's has a full horoscope block because her family uses it. Karthik's has none. Amanjot's leads with family because his family leads with family. Farah's adds two lines about her situation and one about what she's open to.
That's the actual lesson from putting four side by side: there isn't one correct biodata. There's the one that answers the questions the families you're talking to will actually ask.
Which questions those are does tend to differ by who the biodata is for. If you want the field-by-field version, there's one for a girl's biodata, covering height, complexion, salary and where the document ends up, and one for a boy's, covering income, property, job stability and where you'll live after marriage.
Mistakes people make when copying an example
- Leaving the sample's details in. It happens more than you'd think. Read the whole thing once after you've edited it, out loud if you can.
- Copying an income figure because it was in the example. Put your own, a range, or nothing. Some families ask, plenty don't.
- Keeping sections that don't apply. An empty "Gotra:" line is worse than no line. Delete what isn't relevant to you.
- Stretching the About Me section. Four or five honest sentences beat a paragraph of adjectives. There's a longer guide to writing that section if you're stuck on it.
- Writing it once and never touching it again. Jobs change, cities change, photos age. A biodata that says you're 28 when you're 31 is the first thing a family notices.
Once you've picked one
Copy it into whatever you're comfortable with. A document, a notes app, anything. Get the details right first, because that's the part that matters.
When it's ready to send, you have a choice about the form it takes. A PDF or an image is easy to make and easy to forward, though every correction means a new file, and the old one stays in whoever's chat history it reached. The alternative is to keep it at a link that you update in place, so the version someone opens next month is the current one.
That's what Marriage Profile does. You fill in the same sections these examples use, pick a template, and get a link at marriageprofile.in/bio/yourname that you can share on WhatsApp. You can turn the contact form on or off, and choose whether search engines may index the profile, which is off unless you switch it on. Putting the profile behind a password is on the paid plans. You can still download a PDF when someone wants a file. There's a live sample profile if you'd rather see one before signing up.
Whichever way you go, the how to share it question is worth thinking about before you send it to the first family, because a biodata travels further than most people expect.
Frequently asked questions
- How long should a marriage biodata be?
- One page is enough for most people, and a biodata that fits on one phone screen gets read more carefully than one that needs three. Length should follow your situation rather than a rule: if your family compares horoscopes you'll need a longer cultural section, and if you're sending a first introduction you can cut everything except the essentials.
- Can I just copy a sample biodata and change the names?
- You can copy the structure, but change every line that describes you. The examples below carry real-sounding details on purpose, and a biodata that still says 'Software Developer' when you teach at a school reads as careless. Also delete any section that doesn't apply to you instead of leaving it blank.
- Should a biodata be written in first person or third person?
- Both are normal. People writing their own biodata usually use first person, and a parent or sibling writing on someone's behalf often uses third person. Pick one and stay with it. The mix of 'I work in Pune' and 'He is a hardworking boy' in the same document is the thing to avoid.
- What should a biodata look like for a second marriage?
- The same as any other, with one line stating your marital status and, if it applies, whether you have children. You don't owe anyone the story of what happened. Families who need more detail will ask, and that conversation goes better in person than in a document that gets forwarded.
